CANDIDATE FOR WA SENATE - AGRICULTURAL
Lawrie Carr is the Great Australia Party (GAP) senate candidate for the Agricultural Region of Western Australia.
Lawrie has always been a civic minded individual being both a Scout and Venturer as a youth and founding President for the Millbridge Lions.
Lawrie’s background history is one of military service as well as mining-based project management, small business, asset management for local government and business administration and management.
As a small business owner and business administrator, Lawrie has personally experienced the complex and unwieldy tax system Australian’s currently labour under. Lawrie is fully committed to the realisation of a fairer, simpler, and more manageable system of taxation for all who utilize Australia’s resources. This includes a fair taxation of the large multinational companies and individuals who enjoy exorbitant tax concessions to the detriment of the rest of the Australian workers and families.
Lawrie has worked as a Disposal Manager within the Pilbara mining areas and completed many safe and environmentally neutral projects. He has seen how vitally important the storage, treatment and usage of Australia’s water supplies are to industry and primary producers here on the land. It is for this reason that Lawrie is fully committed to the program for water management put forward by GAP.
Lawrie served for 20 years in the Australian Army and has experience in frontline personnel management, stores, logistics and transport. This included road, rail and air transport as well as crane and forklift operation. The final role Lawrie served was with the Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps (RAAOC) and he continues this association by being a member of the RAAOC Association of WA.
During my service, Lawrie was highly competent in use of various weapons. This interest carried over into his civilian life as a proud member of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (SSAA) who will work diligently to ensure the policies of GAP come to fruition regarding firearms.
Lawrie is a loyal person who cherishes the friendships made over 57 years of life. He is looking forward to my high school celebrating its 50th birthday this year. Hopefully 2021 will be a year to remember for Balga Senior HighSchool (BSHS).
Lawrie treasures the education received whilst a student at BSHS, and wholeheartedly agree with the reforms being proposed by GAP. He looks forward to working to empower teachers to be better able to educate students, believing that a core understanding of the constitution and political system should also be included with the basics of schooling. This is a focus for the Great Australia Party and one of the key policies Lawrie is committed to working towards.
As your potential representative, Lawrie is fully aware that when elected, he will be working for the people of Australia first and foremost! He is also fully aware that the finances that I will be making decisions about, are not his, but are the extremely hard-earned tax dollars of the Australian people. With this firmly in mind, Lawrie will strive to provide the best possible return to the Australian populace, for any and all expenditure he shall authorise. He is working to provide a better future for both my children, and yours!
Lawrie is an ardent supporter of the Commonwealth of Australia and proud to be a member of the Royal Commonwealth Society of Australia.
